Polly Picture in Progress, LEAMINGTON

Drawing a girl a day, LEAMINGTON/LONDON

I'll upload better quality pictures when i'm back on another machine, but here's 4 and 5 of my girls from memory drawing instead of photography experiment.

The proportions are elongated but the first is a chinese girl in the rain in a raincoat WITH A HOOD, think she had shorts on underneath, too short to tell.

The other one you could tell what she had on underneath as her burgundy blouse was see-thru. That was at SOAS, which has a certain type of woman their, intellectual, eclectic, environmental and perhaps african or asian. She was eating an apple and going somewhere quick,

So kind of good :)

Lycra, LEAMINGTON

I know this is looking a little fetishistic, but i am trying to stick to drawing a woman a day who has made an impression. And this one did, especially as she was looking around making a perimeter or exclusion zone to keep people (men) from looking at her bum while she filled up last night. I don't think it worked.

Would make a good big picture if i could find someone to recreate it.

Business Woman, LEAMINGTON

Parking cars out of town a bit to get free parking, means a walk to the office.

This is a nice bit of old leamington which has just got sold to property developers---goodbye rickety railings and falling down plaster.

Go-Go Girl, Coca-Cola Squirrel, LEAMINGTON

Top Park, young woman in a 60s style Go-Go dress in Brown. Didn't ask her as she was eating and I was with a friend. Earlier up there, I saw a squirrel drinking from a can of coke.

( I photographed this girl last year, before the blog, crossing the street for a little set of pix i did. I recognised her the other week and have readied her prints from last year to give her. Today, I didn't have them with me though so couldn't. Used them to draw her face from instead).

Student Queues. LEAMINGTON

This is early days in this sub-project, but it's a good way of seeing loads of clothes on people at once. People, so far, don't seem to mind. At least they don't say anything.

The students have made this town 10x better. In the 80s and 90s, this park would have been no-go, pretty much the whole town, now it's not yet great but it's a lot easier hanging around with a camera.

Japanese Tourists, STRATFORD.

Here's a big gang doing the landmarks and features of Shakespeare's Stratford.

Blouse, Biker Jacket, Leggings, Loose Boots, LEAMINGTON

Here's Yani from Kent, who i bullied and coerced into posing with her sketchbook :). Looking hard for a bit of culture in Leamington, might get a depressing shock.

She's great though in her 'fashion hits' look of 2011. Wish I'd made the pic just a bit to the left though, so the leggings would show better against the white window frames. Did it on the film Xpan so I couldn't tell (my new excuse for errors).

Awesome girl, thanks to her!

Bus Queues, LEAMINGTON

A good way of getting people natural is when they are waiting for a bus. I can photograph how they stand and the way they dress without them posing. I don't have to ask anyone, so it gets around that problem and if they don't want to be in it, then they can turn away. So it's quite fair :).

Should make for some exciting images, especially when the queues are at their fattest.

Coming soon crowd of japanese tourists in Stratford.

Robot Planning Dept, LEAMINGTON

Robot scenarios for when the women become real.

Will make a flyer to give out to the prospective models in leamington, i hope they'll have a look at these sketches, the video and the photos of the robot to see what is involved.

Smoking Girls, Strange Anatomy, LEAMINGTON

Couldn't figure out how their legs worked in the great shapes they were making, a perfect opportunity for photograpy's analysis. However, that camera weighs a ton and I had been humping it around all day, so I have to sketch what i saw.

They were puffing a lot, seems a rare thing these days.

The Tassler, LEAMINGTON

Here she is sans-tassles, I am very much liking all her blacks.

Thanks to her!

Grey Pencil, LEAMINGTON

Up by the buses, come hometime, it's quite busy but quiet too and the air is quite clean with the fast blowing gale, along she came in her grey pencil, blue top and blue jacket, to use the cash point and catch her bus.

Biker Syncopation, TORNADO-ESQUE, LEAMINGTON

She had double-decker, 'faux sheepskin fold-over' black boots, black Biker jacket, black leggings and a black bag with long tassles, that the crazy wind was blowing like a cat-o-nine tails to whip you if you got too close.

She heard my bike buzzing i think as she was a good 50 yards off on a busy street and turned and looked my way. I tried to find her later after i parked but she'd blown away.

New City, COVENTRY.

Thanks a lot to the women of Coventry who let me pester them and for being in my blog.

It's looking really modern in the middle of town especially with the blasting sun, that's making this the longest summer ever. There's pencil skirts a plenty in the business parts and i saw a lot of pink too.

Look at this mix of buildings, looks pretty good.

The motorcycle park by Bull's Yard filled up in the afternoon, including 4 old Suzukis (OK, one was mine).

And I've got to say, more buses than I've ever seen.

And this woman in a cable knit white jumper with leggings and converse, who i didn't ask in time and hope to see again and put it to her. Not sure how to photograph her though.

This was in a nice alley next to a 900 year old church, an ancient cathedral and a Georgian Street-a weird mix.

I saw this woman too, but i was too retarded again, and by which time she'd gone into Ann Summer's, so making any approach slightly awkward on her exit.

The light is nice on the stairs that lead up to the car park.

Tight grey jumper, short black skirt, black wedges.

Check that Ugg for Dog Do, OXFORD

The lovely old dog hadn't dropped anything but the asian babe wasn't taking chances.

Roadies, OXFORD.

Things are changing in the world, things got different when i wasn't looking.
Now young women are on road bikes a lot, as i saw a couple of weeks ago here.
Don't know how quick they are, wouldn't like to find out.

They were obeying the no cycling law though, a copper was ticketing those who weren't 50 yards down the road.

Thai Self-Portraits, OXFORD

Awesome Red, OXFORD

Sophie lives her life in 5 inch heels, these were her favourite, she said, not a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl, always dresses 'up'.

She wanted to know if this was for profit, i said, unfortunately for me it wasn't.

Thanks to Sophie for doing it.

Veil, Lots of Black, Chinese Chick, BIRMINGHAM

Very smart studenty CC in Birmingham, going around the stores on the top level of the Bull Ring Shopping Auditorium.
Had a black veil around her bottom half.

All the Blacks, BIRMINGHAM

Check out all the blacks here! Gloss and matt in all the incarnations. Look at that pencil skirt and corset combo'. Fishnets, shiny shades and patent.

Super-Glamour in Birmingham.

Thanks to Courtney!

Hits of the last year, LEAMINGTON

This girl had a striped dress, tight and short, biker jacket and heeled boots with a 'sheepskin' foldover top and a tattoo on her thigh, stuff from the last 18 months. Looked pretty good.

She was happy to be with this man, but he wasn't so keen, he looked a bit shy of her attention and she had to run to keep up.

Hibernation Station, DOMESTIC RECLUSE.

In The Wardrobe.

I think maybe some girls would go away for the winter, they could hibernate like tortoises, and a logical place to do that would be in the bottom of their wardrobe. Dressed in summer gear, ready for when the sun comes in April.

Slightly Worried, Pencil Skirted, Aubergine Shirted, LEAMINGTON

Awesome outfitted woman, worried to be in a stranger's blog, had a smart silhouette and a purple/aubergine blouse outside the old Goray factory in Leamington.

New Robotics, FUTURE

There was a program on the radio today, Radio 4 natch, about robotic helpers being necessary to look after an ageing population. But how about looking after a glamorous population?
