I didn't do a great job photographing this, the shot i liked was blurred and so here's a sketch from a couple of other shots put together...hope she likes it.
that jacket looks finely tailored, all the lines are so neat.
These two didn't mind me drawing them. I liked their relaxed poses and their strange pre-Raphaelite looks, very Birmingham 19th C. Some great pix in the art gallery. Go before they start charging to see them (though that's no bad thing).
I started with a leggy glamour woman, she said "sorry no", then followed many more 'no's today, a chinese woman in a fake fur and dick whittington boots, another in a knitted striped dress in red with black biker boots and a woman who's heel got caught in a pavement crack. All were very nice about it. And then there were the 3 or 4 I didn't ask, but one i did who said yes in a maxi-dress (thanks Roxy) which i will upload tomorrow...so finally one photo coming.
I didn't have my camera, and she was with an orange man-who looked like he might have been a hairdresser-so it would have been difficult anyway. She looks good though, the blouse was a bit see thru' so she kept an arm high for modesty, and she looked 10x better than the drawing.
UPDATE>>>Was back in Ox on the 4th and photographed a woman in almost the exactly same outfit. Will post on the 5th/6th of April.
On my drive into Digbeth, I saw Alyshia and Deni in the burned out warehouse doing some pictures without me. Not suprising as they had never met me before. But i jumped in and piggy backed on their creative endeavour---look at that syling...stripey shirt like Chino's from The Wild One, studded gloves too...this is what we need more of.
At the weekend, I read about the biker look being big this year. On the way into town, i took some biker pix (ta alyshia/deni) i'll upload tomorrow and in town i noticed a couple of very pretty biker girls within a half-hour of each other.
They wouldn't let me photograph them, though both were very nice about it.
I didn't do a great job of snapping this..but it's making me think this is a Birmingham trend...big on vintage layer mix and movie star smooth make-up with high street leggings/jeans where applicable. Hair always looks period too. Always interesting down in Digbeth.
(Thanks to the girls for letting me snap.)
Smart military jacket, kick-ass boot, narrow leg = another great silhouette.
I saw her through the window in the new noodle shop, i think it's called Chop Shop or Chop Suey Gooey. She was waiting for her order. When she came out, I asked her if she'd be on my site, she politely and with an American accent said "No Thanks" I can't remember the exactitude of what she had on, as she made me a bit nervous with her neatness, it was pretty smart.
This Chinese lady looked great but declined to be photographed.
She said "ahh, sorry", least i think that's what she said, i said no problem, and she walked off, the sun blasting off her diamante (or maybe diamond) hair brooch and the wind lifting up her cardigan, showing the back of her jade dress.
