Bike Ride, LEAMINGTON-STRATFORD.

Didn't take camera on the bike, should have done, as great tall girl on her phone crossing the road and saying 'it was almost surreal' as I passed her.

Then in 10 minutes while re-energising in Stratford about 4 great girls passed me including this one in a big fake fur jacket with a big thick pony tail.

I think i will do something along the lines of '99 Girls' to give me something to focus on photographically over the next couple of weeks. |Usual thing, out with a camera and photograph the best women i spot and blog them under the blog-title '99 Girls:' and a bit of detail about where. Will do posed full-length and walking and maybe a close-up portrait too.

I like doing this kind of project as it is interesting seeing how subjects react to being asked to be photographed as much as having a collection of photos I could kindle book, say for 99p/cents.

See you in the New Year. It's nice too, to say to someone 'you look great'.

Starbucks Stalking, LEAMINGTON

Haven't been doing too well in Leamington, it's a bit too secure, and the main places are private spaces, so you're under surveillance and the corporate policing of security guards, so it puts me on edge, makes me feel like I'm bad/suspicious/deplorable, so I don't ask if I can photograph when I see someone I would like to.

So draw instead.

TopShopGirl, LEAMINGTON

Not so sure on the quality of some of the mens' clothes and i got a security spook on me as i was looking at the shop.

Black and White, Clarendon Square, LEAMINGTON.

All the big buildings are white, the trees look black, she had black legs and shoes, and black railings, so yeah lots of black and white.

The blasting wind and the black sheets of rain made her run for the cab.

Starbucks girl, LEAMINGTON.

FOR a different kind of Leamington girl, maybe privately educated, with money anyway, I hang around drawing in Starbucks.

I have spoken a little with this one before, she's highly suspicious of me so it'll be a drawing.

Bear in mind, the day was dry but very cold. I worked out how she could dress like this.

Lives in an apartment block with built in car park, drives to shopping centre with built in car park, walks to built-in Starbucks.

Another casting, LEAMINGTON

Another steps-up to be the robot, I have 3 possibles now but no models for the women yet.

UPDATE: The ROBOT has now infected Ashley's Id. He worries that it will haunt him into making him wear pyjamas and dance to house (specifically, this track)when all he is trying to do is some long-form economics.

Lost something, LEAMINGTON.

I think Brassai was the first blogger. His pictures of Paris in the 30s, look like very good blog fodder. This scene reminded me of one of his pictures.

The woman was static when i saw her, i stood and watched as she dipped into her bag for something or other.

Black Eyed Friday, LEAMINGTON

I didn't know at the time, but it was black eyed friday, the friday before christmas when workers finish at mid-day and spend the evening and afternoon drinking. This explains the packs of men in packs. It didn't explain the super slinky women who were out amongst them though. Was there nowhere/nothing better than skipping through the puke puddles, past the meathead security to get to it. Perhaps not. After all i was lurking in the shadows too, looking out to see what would come along.

Robotic Frustration, LEAMINGTON

The Robot is annoyed at his project being held back by a lack of models to take part in it. This is partly due to a crisis of confidence by the artist, a frustration with camera equipment (method and technique) and a real lack of trusting models ready to step up to the task.

Two Glam Girls, LEAMINGTON

Two great styles here-
Pencil dress and stripes! With a big coat, pretty classy for a Friday night in Leam.
The other Jap style almost with the black stockings.

Both said No to being photo'd-oh well who's to blame them.

Speed Garage Night 1997, KINGSTON.

One night in 1997, in the first week at University, a new friend suggested we go out to a club. I remember it being fairly empty but catering to a garage crowd and I remember her leaning against the blue wall in a blouse and pencil skirt with a glass of champagne. I think the first time I'd seen someone dress like this. I think it was slightly typical of the scene---very smart girls, in classy outfits.

Got a migraine from drawing on the computer this week, so keeping it pen and crayon for a bit.

Geese teasing, STRATFORD.

I think i might have featured in one or two of her many snaps around the waterfront in Stratford, yet i didn't have my camera with me and so she didn't feature in any of mine.

More details, LEICESTER.

Here is a shot from my film camera that I took of the fantastic woman walking along by the canal.

I remember she said 'should i walk?', which was a good idea and i usually do walking shots, but also kind of wish i'd slowed down a bit and done a posed shot as this lady had the legs and look for it.

I forgot a few things. Jacket wasn't zipped up all the way, the scarf, brown boots and lighter toned jeans.
Anyhow, super stylish lady, thanks to her!

Red, white and blue, LEICESTER.

Thanks to these young women from Leicester for their colour and smiles on a cold day.

Pencil skirt and stripes in one outfit...wow. And on a Monroe-esque blonde too!

Thanks for climbing the curb in the red and black. Hot!

Awesome girls, thanks.

A Young Woman, STRATFORD

She held herself slinky and relaxed, except when I asked her if i could photograph her. This idea seemed to appall her. She shook her head. She looked good though and her friend took my card, so they may see this.

Crossing Tram Lines, NOTTINGHAM.

Trams have a civilising effect on me. The noise reminds me of continental cities and so I begin to believe I'm somewhere smart. Nottingham's trams clunk and whizz like the best of them and some parts of Nottingham I can see are very special...the gothic big houses of the Victorian The Forest district and those wicked Elms and Oaks in the park.

Anyhow, I didn't ask this young woman if i could photograph her big scarf and big blonde hair as she crossed the tram tracks. Not sure why, I watched her slip away but noted her colours and style.

The Road to, NOTTINGHAM.

Sur-really great girl on the way into the city of great girls. Great boots too!

Thanks to her!

One of the girls of the year.

Here's a more fun pic which i shot on an old film camera, which sometimes isn't always focused just so, no matter.

M1 Services, LEICESTERSHIRE.

Great to see colour and glamour amongst the squalor in the petrol station on the way North.

Thanks to Chantelle!

Biker Jacket, Eastern Avenue, LEICESTER.

Great low-sun through the leaves and twigs-brilliant big hair and zipped up biker jacket, skinny jeans and i can't remember the shoes but i think they were yellow ankle boots.

Got a snap, and will stick it up next couple of days.

Thanks to her!

One of the girls of the year.

Wedges, Walnut Street, LEICESTER.

I had some free-time, petrol and a car half way up the Fosse already, so I thought might as well go and visit that friend in Leicester and see the fashion too.

At Walnut Street and the excitingly named Eastern Boulevard I hung around and watched and sometimes photographed who I saw there.

I thought this girl had a Top Shop duffle coat but I can't find it on their site, with the hemp string held toggles looking new, maybe it was last year's. Her wedges looked good too but most of all her extreme bob caught my eye the most as she waited for the traffic to stop.

Two J-girls, MILANO.

Only Japanese girls sit like this, they quietly occupy small spaces and keep it neat.

Motion Blurr, MILANO.

Sophia, Gallery 150, LEAMINGTON.

Sophia stands in-front of a painting of her behind at the Melvyn Warren-Smith opening at Gallery150 in Leamington last Tuesday 22nd. There's another great painting of her bottom there, so well worth a visit, on show until the 4th of December.

Wow to the turquoise scarf, digging the shine.

Peeking out from photos, LEAMINGTON

Not sure why i'm doing these at the moment, looks good though with all the gloss and the curves and the woman peeking out from it once the jigsaw is complete.

Sorry about the whistling, bumcrack, skinniness, silly scarf and floppy hair. The General Annoyances.

later on cut out the middle white lines.

Mid-Day, MILANO.

Didn't see too many (this was the only one) instances of high glam in Milan this time around. Didn't stop her to ask her if I could do one of her, just cycled ahead of her and waited for her to emerge from the arches she was walking down.

Would have made all the tourists of San Babila's day if she'd strided down the middle of the precinct.

Model Type on the Train, England.

Here is when drawing deserted me with this fantastic woman on the train. This is the picture i need to rectify.

I think i said something stupid too, like i'll give you a pair of good legs, she already had incredible legs.

(She had a 40s jacket, very wide and short, looked like i said like a Bladerunner babe. A nice quiet way about her too, big sad eyes-in a good way. Awesome chick. )

I gave up drawing and just scribbled colours and styles so when i start to sort it out, will have more than memory to do something good with.

Should be ok, check back to see how i get on.

A million pardons.

(it says fake fur for the boot trim)

Will colour this in and tidy it up...

Like so...work in prgrss

Needs a background but great woman.

And have quickly made her a bit more sad around the eyes. Not that she seemed sad but had a great face that looked a bit mysterious.

Sorted the legs a bit, moved the knee caps UP. Great style, thanks to her. One of the girls of the year
